Stockton residents can now enjoy a tropical escape without leaving the city as Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice is set to make its debut at the Miracle Mile.

This tasty treat originating from Hawaii will be served at 2130 Pacific Avenue, a location previously occupied by See's Candies for over half a century.

David Yamashiro, CEO and co-founder of Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice, expressed enthusiasm about the new venue, stating that the Miracle Mile will provide a warm, wholesome setting for locals to relish their world-class shave ice experience. Yamashiro anticipates that the new location will participate actively in Stockton's growth and influence.

The company will hold a soft opening on July 15, with a grand opening to follow. Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice, started by Ululani, Yamashiro, and their friend Brad Edgerton, first opened its doors in Lahaina, Maui, in December 2008. They expanded the business to include a franchise location in Kailua, Kona, Hawaii, in 2017, and ventured out to Hollywood, California, in October 2022.

Described by Yamashiro as "unique, gourmet, and delicious," Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice brings a unique flavor profile to Stockton. It will be the first Central Valley location for the brand, with its only other outpost outside Hawaii located in Los Angeles.

Ululani's has aggressive expansion plans, with another four franchises set to open this year, including outlets in Redlands and Livermore, California, and Austin, Texas. Plans are also in the works for new locations in Waimanalo, Hawaii, and the gulf coast of Florida in early 2024.

The new Stockton location will be owned by Jonnie and Tammy Nguyen, local business owners who already run CoCoro, a Japanese Bistro & Sushi Bar, and co-own El Chilango Chido, a Mexican restaurant, both located on Pacific Avenue.
