A high-speed vehicle pursuit in Stockton early Sunday morning ended tragically with the deaths of three people, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
The pursuit began around 1 a.m. when deputies attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near Wilson Way and Harding Way. The driver refused to pull over, leading deputies on a chase through city streets.
At the intersection of Airport Way and Hazelton Avenue, the suspect’s vehicle collided with an uninvolved car. The crash resulted in the deaths of the suspect and the two occupants of the other vehicle.
Authorities have launched a multi-agency investigation involving the Stockton Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
