Stocktonia And CVTV Announce Mayoral Debate

Event Details:
Stocktonia News Service, in collaboration with Central Valley TV, is set to host a mayoral debate on February 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The debate, which aims to inform the citizens of Stockton on key issues, will take place at Delta College. To ensure accessibility for all, the event will not host a live audience but will be extensively accessible through various digital platforms.

Broadcasting Platforms:
The debate will be live-streamed on Stocktonia’s Facebook page for real-time viewing. Additionally, it will be simulcast on Delta College's radio station, KWDC-FM (93.5), and later available on CVTV's YouTube channel and Roku TV. These multiple broadcasting options ensure that the debate reaches a wide audience across different media preferences.

Moderation and Topics:
Veteran local television reporter and anchor, Tim Daly, will moderate the debate. The discussion will focus on critical issues such as public safety, homelessness, and housing, among others, ahead of the primary elections on March 5. These topics are of paramount importance to Stockton's residents and are expected to play a significant role in the upcoming election.

Public Participation:
In an effort to engage the community and ensure that the debate addresses the concerns of Stockton's citizens, Stocktonia is inviting the public to submit questions for the candidates in advance to info@stocktonia.org. Candidates:
The debate will feature all six mayoral candidates who have committed to participating. The diverse group of contenders includes business owner Shakeel Ahmad, former councilmember Jesus Andrade, former Vice Mayor Christina Fugazi, San Joaquin County Supervisor Tom Patti, nonprofit owner Jessica Velez, and current District councilmember Dan Wright. The candidates are vying to succeed Mayor Kevin Lincoln II, who is pursuing a seat in the U.S. Congress.
