As graduation looms and summer break nears, Stockton Unified is offering a variety of opportunities for community engagement throughout May.
Subcommittee meetings are resuming after a long hiatus, providing the public a chance to interact with board members and administrators in a more open format compared to traditional board meetings.
Board President AngelAnn Flores emphasizes the importance of community partnership and encourages members to contribute their insights on equity and budget matters. The goal is to drive the district forward with the help of diverse perspectives.
Subcommittee meetings will be held at the Arthur Coleman Jr. Administrative Complex, located at 56 South Lincoln St., Stockton. The May schedule includes meetings covering topics such as budget, English Learners, equity and diversity, transformative justice, Black Students Thrive, safety and student conduct, and the 1852 Foundation. Additionally, the Stockton Unified Parent Advisory Committee will meet at the Family Resource Centers at 1661 Pacific Ave., Stockton.
The district's regularly scheduled board meeting will take place on May 9 at the Arthur Coleman Jr. Administrative Complex. Furthermore, the district aims to reschedule the canceled April 28 superintendent search subcommittee meeting and add another opportunity for community input regarding the selection of Stockton Unified's next superintendent.
