With Election Day just two months away, Stockton residents are gearing up to cast their ballots in the 2024 general election. This year, voters will not only decide the next president of the United States but also elect local government officials and vote on several important measures.
Key dates have been announced to help ensure voters are prepared. The Voter Information Guide, which includes details on candidates and ballot measures, will be available online starting September 6. From September 26 to October 15, the California Secretary of State’s office will mail out the official guides to registered voters.
Vote-by-mail ballots will begin going out on October 7, and early voting sites will open on the same day. Voters can drop off their completed mail-in ballots at designated drop-off locations between October 8 and November 5.
If you haven’t registered to vote yet, October 21 is the last day to do so. However, voters can still participate via same-day registration and cast provisional ballots from October 22 through Election Day on November 5, when polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This election includes races for the U.S. presidency, U.S. Senate, state legislature, and local offices, along with 10 statewide ballot propositions. To check your registration status or register to vote, visit registertovote.ca.gov.
