This winter, Stockton’s award-winning Lantern Festival is back, transforming the Stockton Ballpark into an ocean-themed wonderland for 59 nights from November 22 through January 19. Following last year’s “Magic Forest” success, the festival returns with the new “Magic Ocean” theme, promising even larger lanterns and immersive experiences.

Inspired by Koda, a young visitor’s dream of a colorful, underwater world, “Magic Ocean” brings this vision to life with over 60 intricately designed lanterns crafted using traditional Chinese techniques dating back 2,000 years. Each lantern—crafted with vibrant LED lights, metal, and fabric—creates a stunning display of coral, fish, and ocean creatures, with some installations towering up to 50 feet and stretching nearly 100 feet long.

Visitors will enjoy a fully immersive experience, walking “underwater” through dazzling art installations and vibrant performances of music, dance, and acrobatics. “Each guest will be brought on an adventure,” said Jason Perry, General Manager of ASM Global - Stockton, highlighting the event’s larger-than-life lanterns and interactive displays.

Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com and at the Stockton Arena box office. Admission starts at $19 for children ages 2-12 and $23 for adults. The festival runs daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the last ticket sold at 9 p.m.
