A 14-year-old student in Stockton was arrested on Friday after bringing a gun to his high school, according to the Stockton Police Department. The incident occurred at a school located on the 2000 block of West Lane in the Civic District.

School staff discovered the firearm on the student and immediately alerted authorities. While the gun was reportedly unloaded, the student fled the scene on foot before police arrived. Stockton officers quickly located the student and arrested him on gun-related charges.

This incident comes at a time of heightened concern, as schools across the country face ongoing investigations into threats of violence. So far, eight students have been arrested in Northern California for threats against schools. Stockton authorities and school officials are working together to ensure the safety of students and prevent further incidents.

The student is now in custody, and no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The situation is a reminder of the serious safety challenges schools continue to face, as communities work to protect students from potential threats.
