Pandemic State Of Emergency To End

Stockton City Council held a meeting the other night to discuss many things. One of the items on the agenda was to end Stockton’s covid state of emergency next February.

Back in October Governor Gavin Newsom set the date to February 28th, 2023 to end the pandemic emergency. Stockton followed in line with that date and the city will end its proclamation as well. With a 7-0 unanimous vote the proclamation will be erased. Cassie Dickman from Stocktonia added “Council members also agreed that temporary pandemic-related commercial and residential eviction moratoriums currently on the city’s books should be revisited at next week’s City Council meeting despite staff clarifying at Tuesday’s meeting that sunset dates are already set for early next year.”

While this is ending next year Fat City Feed would like to encourage you to still take the precautions you see necessary to keep you and your family healthy and safe. We will keep you updated on what this exactly looks like for our city. For more information visit Dickman’s article on Stocktonia.
