A second mountain lion sighting has been reported by local officials, this time in an orchard on Peltier Road in Lodi. This follows a previous unsuccessful search for a mountain lion in the Acampo area. The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office is intensifying efforts to locate and safely trap the animal.

Authorities are urging residents to stay vigilant, keep pets indoors, and report any sightings immediately by calling the Sheriff's Office at 209-468-4400, selecting Option 1. The repeated sightings have raised concerns about community safety, prompting deputies to thoroughly search the area.

"Our number one priority is your safety," stated a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office. Residents are reminded to contact emergency services by dialing 9-1-1 if they find themselves in an immediate threat posed by the wildlife.

The presence of mountain lions in residential areas is rare, but such sightings can pose real dangers to local communities. The Sheriff's Office is asking everyone in the affected areas to follow safety guidelines and report any unusual activity as they continue to address this public safety concern.
