After eight days of uncertainty, 14-year-old Daisy Edens Bean, who was reported missing from Lodi on October 11, has been found safe. The Lodi Police Department announced her recovery on Monday, October 21, though details of her return remain limited due to the sensitive nature of the case.
Daisy was last seen walking away from her mother’s home with her pet cat, sparking immediate concern from her family and the community. Her father, Jay Bean, described her as a kind-hearted teenager who loves animals, sharing that she enjoys trail riding and spending time outdoors. As days passed without any word from Daisy, the sense of urgency grew, with her family expressing their distress over the unknown. "The last days have been a nightmare," Jay said, struggling to put into words the pain of not knowing where his daughter was.
The Lodi Police Department labeled Daisy as “at risk” and raised the possibility that she might be traveling to the Bay Area or Arizona. However, after checking both areas, her family was left with no leads.
Community Rallies to Help
Daisy’s disappearance prompted a significant community response. On Sunday, October 20, over 50 volunteers gathered at Katzakian Park in Lodi to join the search efforts. Neighbors, friends, and even strangers came together, going door-to-door in hopes of finding clues about Daisy’s whereabouts. One volunteer, Vera Haena, shared her motivation: "If one of my babies were missing, I would want the community to come together for them."
The outpouring of support extended beyond Lodi. Daisy’s grandparents drove five hours from Southern California to help organize the search, while other volunteers took to social media, spreading awareness and offering prayers for her safe return.
Daisy Found Safe
On October 21, police confirmed that Daisy had been found safe. However, out of respect for the privacy of those involved, they did not release further details. While much about the case remains unclear, Daisy’s safe return has brought immense relief to her family and the community, who rallied together during a time of crisis.
This case serves as a reminder of the power of community support when facing difficult times. For now, Lodi can breathe a collective sigh of relief, knowing Daisy is home safe.
