Book lovers, get ready! The annual Great Valley Bookfest is returning to Manteca on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Held at The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley (Bass Pro Center), the event promises a day full of literary fun for all ages.
This year’s Bookfest will feature dozens of authors from various genres, including fiction, non-fiction, and lifestyle, who will be on hand to read from their works, answer questions, and sign books. Visitors can stroll through “Authors' Alley” to meet their favorite writers or discover new ones. The event is entirely free, offering presentations, workshops, cooking demonstrations, and a children's parade, which kicks off at 10:00 a.m. led by live musicians.
Alongside the literary festivities, attendees can enjoy food from gourmet trucks lined up along “Knosh Boulevard,” peruse arts and crafts vendors, and even sample beverages in a beer and wine section for guests 21 and older.
The Bookfest aims to promote literacy and create a family-friendly environment where people can develop a love for reading. Parking at the Bass Pro Center is free, and visitors are welcome to explore the stores and restaurants in the shopping center during the event.
