A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead in Stockton earlier this week. Giovanni Angelo was taken into custody after police identified him as the suspect in the fatal collision, which occurred on Tuesday around 6:45 p.m. near West March Lane and Venetian Drive.
According to the Stockton Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find a 60-year-old man who had been struck by a vehicle and was pronounced dead. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
Police investigators were able to identify both Angelo and the vehicle involved in the incident. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about how Angelo was located or the events leading up to the crash.
The arrest marks a significant development in the case as police continue their investigation into the tragic hit-and-run.
