10-Year-Old Boy Dies After Incident At Merced Trampoline Park

A 10-year-old boy, Anthony Duran, has tragically passed away due to injuries sustained at a trampoline park in Merced on Thursday evening. He was discovered unresponsive at the Rockin' Jump, located near Main and T streets, around 5 p.m.

According to witnesses, Duran was playing basketball with other children when he engaged in a short altercation with another child. After collapsing, the other child fled the scene. Bystanders immediately started administering CPR to Duran until emergency personnel arrived and took over. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.

The Merced police have obtained surveillance footage of the incident and will collaborate with the Merced County Coroner's Office to establish the cause of death. The other child involved in the altercation has been identified, and detectives are in communication with their parents during the ongoing investigation.

The Merced Police Department is working closely with the Merced County District Attorney to decide if any charges will be brought forward. Detective Edwin Arias is urging anyone with further information about this tragic event to contact him at (209) 388-7826.
