It’s been a week of thrilling basketball for the Stockton Kings, who delivered back-to-back victories at Adventist Health Arena, solidifying their status as a dominant force in the NBA G League.
On Wednesday night, the Stockton Kings celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Night with a nail-biting 120-117 win over the Santa Cruz Warriors. The victory improved their record to 8-3 and showcased standout performances across the lineup.
Isaiah Crawford scored a season-high 23 points, adding six rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks. Center Skal Labissière matched Crawford’s 23 points and chipped in six rebounds, while guard Dexter Dennis posted a double-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. Terry Taylor contributed 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists to round out the dynamic effort.
Although Santa Cruz’s Kevin Knox II recorded a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds, and Yuri Collins tallied 21 points and 13 assists, Stockton’s balanced attack and strong defense proved too much. The Kings capitalized on a 10-point halftime lead and sealed the victory with Taylor’s 17-point second-half performance.
The Kings continued their hot streak on Friday with a 127-119 win over the Rip City Remix, improving their record to 9-3. Dexter Dennis led the charge with a stellar 31-point, six-rebound, six-assist performance. Terry Taylor followed closely with 26 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Isaiah Crawford contributed 23 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Brian Bowen II dominated the boards, grabbing 14 rebounds to go along with his 13 points.
Despite a strong showing from Rip City’s Henri Drell, who led all scorers with 32 points, and Bryce McGowens, who added 28 points, Stockton’s superior rebounding (50-36) and shooting efficiency (49.5% to 48.8%) gave them the edge. The Kings outscored their opponents 35-28 in the fourth quarter to secure the win in a game marked by eight lead changes and six ties.
The Kings will cap off their week of basketball with another home game on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Adventist Health Arena. Fans can look forward to another exciting performance as Stockton aims to extend their winning streak.
