Wisconsin Fugitive Arrested in New Hampshire Traffic Stop After Speeding Violation
HENNIKER, NEW HAMPSHIRE – A Keene man wanted on a Wisconsin warrant was arrested last week during a traffic stop in Henniker, officials confirmed.
Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest
According to Newport Dispatch, 41-year-old Brandon Escano was pulled over around 9:41 p.m. on Aug. 24 after Henniker Police Officer Cole Bannister clocked him driving 72 mph in a 55-mph zone along Route 202&9.
During the stop, dispatch records revealed Escano had a fully extraditable warrant from Wisconsin for possession of child pornography.
Taken Into Custody Without Incident
Police said Escano was taken into custody without resistance and transported to the Henniker Police Department for booking. He was later moved to the Merrimack County House of Corrections, where he will remain until extradition proceedings are completed.
Background on Warrant
Authorities confirmed the Wisconsin warrant stemmed from Escano’s failure to appear for a sentencing hearing in July 2020. The details of his original case have not yet been released publicly.
Escano will face extradition back to Wisconsin, where he will appear in court to resolve the outstanding charges.
