Upper Michigan Weather Alert: Record-Breaking Heat Possible This Weekend
MARQUETTE, Mich. — Residents in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula should prepare for unseasonably hot weather, with forecasters warning that record high temperatures may be broken Friday and Saturday.
Warming Trend Builds
According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, skies will clear by Thursday, bringing sunny, dry conditions. Highs are expected between 68°F and 82°F, with overnight lows in the upper 40s to 50s.
By Friday, humidity will increase along with temperatures, pushing highs into the 73°F to 83°F range. A few scattered showers or thunderstorms may develop later in the day.
Saturday Heat Could Break Records
Saturday is forecast to be the warmest day of the stretch, with highs between 78°F and 85°F — well above seasonal averages for early October in the U.P.
Forecasters say the conditions could break multiple daily temperature records, particularly on Friday and Saturday. Rain chances will rise Saturday night as unsettled weather moves into the region.
Relief on the Way Next Week
After the unusual October heat wave, conditions are expected to cool back to seasonal levels early next week, giving residents a break from the warmth.
Meteorologists are urging residents to stay weather-aware and prepared for temperature swings that could impact outdoor events and weekend plans.
