North Carolina Chick-fil-A Employee Fired After Telling Hispanic Woman to “Get Out” Over Her Accent — “He Said English Was the Problem”
NORTH CAROLINA – A Chick-fil-A employee in North Carolina has been fired after a viral video showed him refusing to take a Hispanic woman’s order, mocking her accent, and telling her to leave the restaurant because of how she spoke English.
The woman, who posted multiple videos of the confrontation online, said she was simply trying to place her order when the employee cut her off and said he didn’t want to serve her because she didn’t “speak perfect English.”
“English Is the Problem”
According to her post, the employee reportedly told her that Hispanic people shouldn’t come to the restaurant unless they could speak “proper English.”
@luchiacm 1 Part : This is how an employee at Chick-fil-A treated me just because I went to fix my order. With racism, he told me that a Hispanic shouldn’t even come to buy there unless they spoke perfect English. The truth is, he didn’t want to work or be there, but chose to show nothing but hate and disrespect. We live in a world full of violence, and in moments like this, the best thing to do is stay calm and turn to the right authorities. The manager of this restaurant was very apologetic and told me this person was removed. My friends, let’s keep the peace and protect ourselves from people like this unfortunately, here in the U.S. there are too many of them. @Chick-fil-A #racism #hispanic #violence #hate #hearhispanicvoices
He then allegedly shouted, “Get the [expletive] out of here!” before mocking her language, sarcastically saying, “necesito go” — a clumsy, offensive attempt at Spanish that translates to “I need go.”
“He literally told me ‘English is the problem,’” the woman said in her video. “I repeated my order clearly. He just didn’t want to listen.”
Manager Steps In, Employee Fired
After the incident, the woman immediately spoke with the store manager, who apologized profusely and assured her the employee had been terminated following an internal review.
Other customers soon confirmed the firing in comments across TikTok and Reddit.
“Update — they just called me! He was fired!” one commenter wrote after contacting Chick-fil-A corporate to confirm the decision.
One local customer also revealed that the same employee had been previously reported for verbally abusing other guests, writing:
“I just reported him Monday cause he called me a [expletive]. Manager didn’t do anything until I called corporate.”
Outrage and Mixed Reactions Online
The video sparked a wave of outrage — not just because of the racist remarks, but because the employee himself was a Black man targeting another minority.
“As if we both aren’t minorities,” one viewer wrote. “This is heartbreaking.”
Others blamed a broader culture of emboldened hate, with one comment reading:
“Trump gave everyone the comfort of being racist without any consequences.”
However, a smaller group of online users attempted to defend the employee, claiming they “couldn’t understand” the woman’s accent — a response many found just as discriminatory.
“The amount of racism on here is insane,” one viewer replied. “She spoke fine. He just didn’t want to listen.”
Chick-fil-A Responds
While the national Chick-fil-A chain has not released a public statement, several franchise operators in the region privately confirmed that corporate customer relations had intervened once the video went viral.
The company reportedly contacted the woman to apologize directly, emphasizing that racism and discrimination violate Chick-fil-A’s core values.
