Stockton Kings Defeat Texas Legends To Win Series

The Stockton Kings secured a 108-104 victory over the Texas Legends on Sunday afternoon at Adventist Health Arena, closing out the series with a win and improving to 11-2 on the season.

Stockton center Skal Labissière led the team with 24 points, while Colby Jones, on assignment from the Sacramento Kings, added 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Isaiah Crawford posted 13 points and five rebounds, and Isaac Jones notched his third consecutive double-double, contributing 13 points and 14 rebounds. Off the bench, Dexter Dennis and Terry Taylor scored 14 and 10 points, respectively.

For Texas, Tyson Walker led all scorers with 28 points, followed by Phil Wheeler with 17 points. Former Stockton Kings guard Justin Powell put up 15 points, while the Legends’ bench combined for 36 points, highlighted by Jarod Lucas with 19 points and Teafale Lenard Jr. with 13 points.

The game saw multiple momentum shifts. The Legends opened with a 4-0 lead before Stockton responded with a 10-4 run. Texas controlled the first quarter, finishing with a 30-19 lead. They extended their advantage to 14 points midway through the second quarter, but the Kings fought back, cutting the deficit to 50-58 at halftime despite committing 12 turnovers.

The second half was a back-and-forth battle, featuring seven lead changes and three ties. Stockton gained the edge in the third quarter, taking a narrow 76-75 lead before sealing the win with a 32-29 fourth-quarter performance.

The Stockton Kings will face the Grand Rapids Gold (6-7) at Adventist Health Arena on Tuesday, January 28, and Thursday, January 30, at 7:00 PM PST. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
