The Lodi Street Faire is gearing up to be a major event this season, with nearly 500 vendors expected to showcase their goods on the first Sunday of May. The event, organized by the Lodi Chamber of Commerce, will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 5, along School and Church streets from Lockeford Street to Lodi Avenue.
Event manager Jenna Haley reported that 492 vendors have signed up, offering a variety of items including antiques, arts, crafts, clothing, and homemade snacks. "It's exciting," Haley said. "I think we're going to have a great time. It looks like the weather is going to be good, too."
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Monarca Dance Academy, a new Folklorico dance group from Lodi, will perform at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. on Pine Street. The U.S. Army will also be present with an interactive booth, and both the Lodi Fire and Police Departments will host community areas with activities and games for children in front of their administration buildings on Elm Street.
Food offerings will be abundant, with a range of options from bratwurst sandwiches and tri-tip to Mexican, Filipino, and Chinese dishes. Attendees can also indulge in sweet treats and cold drinks throughout the day.
The Lodi Street Faire, held biannually in May and October, is known for its special exhibits and activities tailored to the spring and autumn seasons.
