Lodi High Girls Swim Team Places Fifth In Championships, Four Swimmers Head To State

The Lodi High girls swim team secured fifth place out of 39 schools at the Sac-Joaquin Section Championships in Elk Grove last week.

Four Lodi swimmers have qualified to compete at the CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships, taking place at Clovis West High in northeast Fresno.

Lodi's Savanna Berry qualified with a second-place finish earlier in the week. The Lodi boys team ranked 18th out of 37 schools. Lodi's 400-yard freestyle team and Claire DeVries in the 100-yard breaststroke will also compete at the state level.

At the section meet, the top eight times from preliminary rounds advanced to the finals, while places 9 through 16 competed in the consolation finals. Lodi swimmers scored points in various events, contributing to the team's overall success.

Tokay's Taylor Garcia participated in the girls' finals, placing 13th in the 100 breaststroke and 16th in the 100 butterfly.

On the boys' side, Lodi swimmers scored points in multiple events, including the 200 medley relay, 200 individual medley, and 400 freestyle relay.
