Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom is taking action to address the rising costs of utilities in California with the introduction of AB 13, a bill aimed at reforming the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to increase accountability and transparency.
“Californians are already facing the burden of high living costs, and the last thing they need is further increases in their utility bills,” said Assemblymember Ransom. “We need to ensure that decisions affecting their utilities are made with fairness, transparency, and accountability, prioritizing affordability for Californians.”
Since taking office, Ransom has collaborated with stakeholders and fellow legislators to develop AB 13, ensuring the bill establishes clear policies that prevent unchecked utility rate hikes.
The bill has been referred to the Assembly Committee on Utilities and Energy, where amendments will be considered to strengthen its impact.
