The family of an elderly woman is speaking out after she was robbed at a Walmart in Stockton. According to the family, the incident is part of a disturbing trend of violence toward Asian Americans. The victim was too shaken up to speak, but her niece Shellane was with her at the time and witnessed the attack.

Shellane said that the incident happened while they were waiting in the checkout line to pay. Her aunt went to grab a forgotten item when they heard her scream. They ran over and saw a man grab her bag and yank it off her shoulder, causing her to fall back. The attacker then fled the scene.

The family is upset that no one stepped in to help. They believe that Walmart's in-store security should have been more proactive in protecting their guests. The manager of the Stockton store declined to comment on security protocols or whether security guards at the store are trained to step in during cases like this.

The victim had over $350 in cash in her purse, which was supposed to be sent to her family in the Philippines. She also had personal information, including social security cards and a green card, which was taken by the attacker. This has left the family fearing retaliation and the victim wanting to move out of the state.

This robbery has left the family shaken and concerned. The incident has also raised questions about Walmart's security protocols and the need for increased protection for customers. The family hopes that their story will raise awareness and lead to positive change. Remember to watch your back, look out for each other. For more on the story visit CBS Sacramento.
