A series of shootings disrupted the city's peace Saturday night, leaving three men injured, according to Stockton police.
The first incident occurred just shy of 7 p.m. downtown. A 26-year-old man, while walking, was unexpectedly hit by a bullet. Reports suggest he heard the gunfire only moments before realizing he had been shot. Taking swift action, the injured man managed to transport himself to a local hospital. His injuries are not deemed life-threatening, and he is expected to recover.
Merely minutes after the first incident, another shooting was reported at the junction of Lincoln and Worth streets, situated in the Civic District. The victim, a 47-year-old man, was present at the location when an unidentified assailant shot him. He promptly received medical attention, and similar to the earlier victim, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Late into the night, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a third report emerged of a 38-year-old man who returned to his residence bleeding from a gunshot wound. The exact location of this incident remains undisclosed. He was rushed to a hospital and is, thankfully, projected to make a full recovery.
The Stockton police have not yet released any information concerning potential suspects for these incidents. The seemingly unrelated shootings have raised concerns about safety in the city, and local residents are urged to remain vigilant while the investigations are ongoing.
