In a distressing incident on a Friday morning, the Castanon family's North Stockton home was violated by a burglary, leaving a shattered front window, several missing items, and an undermined sense of security.

The family reported leaving the house around 7:06 a.m., and security footage reveals a man ringing their doorbell just two minutes later.

Without waiting for more than 30 seconds, the unidentified man proceeded to break the front window, gaining access into the house. The burglar allegedly made off with several items including old wedding rings, family jewelry, and tablets.

Stephen Castanon and his family are in the process of recovering from the traumatic event. In the meantime, the Stockton Police Department has taken charge of the investigation.

Friday night ended with a ray of hope as officers arrested Demariay Campbell, suspecting him of the burglary. Campbell has been booked into San Joaquin County Jail on charges of first-degree burglary and receiving stolen property.

Stockton Police Department encourages anyone with further information to contact Stockton Crime Stoppers at 209-946-0600 and reference the case number 23-16746. Their contribution could be essential in delivering justice to the Castanon family and restoring peace within the community
