It's music to our ears - the annual Concerts in the Park series is making a vibrant comeback this summer!
Running weekly through August, this beloved tradition offers the community an exciting roster of free outdoor concerts in Victory Park, Stockton.
The concert series, hosted by the nonprofit Stockton Concerts in Victory Park Corp., has been a local staple since its inception in 1952 by the Stockton Musicians Association Local #189 and the city of Stockton. Now, more than 70 years later, the series continues to bring a variety of musical genres to the community.
The series runs from 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday through August 23. The diverse set of performers includes the Network, Sabrosito, the Valley Concert Band, Blowbacks, Mayday, the Nick Elwood Band, Gary Don Ricks and The Would Be Famous Band, the Gary Bohannon Band, the Stockton Garage Big Band, and the Mike Torres Band.
In addition to the Victory Park concerts, music lovers can also enjoy a series of performances across the Valley, including the Tracy Block Party, Music in the Park at Lodi's Hutchins Street Square, and Music on the Brickwalk at Lincoln Center.
The Tracy Block Party offers a selection of bands including the Country Cougars, Cover Me Badd, the Capital City Band, and Native Elements. These concerts are set for select Fridays from 6-9 p.m., running until Sept. 8.
Meanwhile, at Lodi's Hutchins Street Square, attendees can enjoy performances by Agent, Georgetowne, and Dohnutz on every fourth Wednesday of the month through Aug. 23, from 6-8 p.m.
Lastly, the Music on the Brickwalk series at Lincoln Center presents Summit, Whiskey Kiss, and Hip Service on Fridays from July 21 to Sept. 15, from 6-9 p.m.
These outdoor concerts present a wonderful opportunity to soak up the summer sun, while enjoying live performances from a range of talented musicians. So, gather your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets, and immerse yourself in the sounds of summer!
