In a unique response to a recent burglary, David’s Pizza on West Hammer Lane in Stockton is offering an appetizing reward—free pizza for two years—to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the suspects involved. The offer comes after surveillance footage captured two men breaking into the pizzeria early Monday morning and stealing an arcade change machine.
Alyssa Calder, the owner’s daughter, reported that the burglary resulted in a loss of over $600, not including the cost to repair damages. "They were in here for about two minutes,” Calder explained. “They knew what they were going for when they came in."
This incident is part of a larger trend affecting local businesses. Just last week, Ramen 101 on Benjamin Holt Drive also fell victim to a burglary, where a thief was captured on video breaking a glass door and stealing a cash register.
The Stockton Police Department has recorded 667 burglary reports from January to April this year alone, highlighting a significant increase in such crimes. In response, the police are promoting a business watch program, encouraging a cooperative effort between the department and local businesses to enhance safety and security.
David’s Pizza’s novel approach to solving their case reflects a community-centric method to crime prevention. Anyone with information about the burglary is encouraged to call the Stockton Police at (209) 477-2677.
