In a harrowing case stemming from a parking dispute, Stockton resident Larry Galicinao, 38, has been sentenced to life in prison. This punishment includes two consecutive 10-year life sentences, plus an additional 8-year term, for the heinous crime of setting his neighbors, Patsy and Jorge Garcia, on fire.
The grievous event occurred in August 2020 when Galicinao, armed with a can of gasoline, entered the Garcia residence. In what prosecutors described as a deeply disturbing escalation from a mere disagreement, he proceeded to douse the couple in gasoline before igniting both them and their home.

The Garcias miraculously survived the attack, although they suffered extensive injuries with burns covering 85% of their bodies. Their painful journey to recovery involved a prolonged hospital stay of five months.

A particularly chilling aspect of this tragedy is the near-miss involving the Garcia's 5-year-old daughter. In a testament to a father's love and resilience, Jorge Garcia, despite his dire condition, managed to save his daughter from the blazing inferno, ensuring she remained unharmed.

The community remains shaken by the incident, highlighting the devastating outcomes that can result from unresolved disputes.
