STOCKTON, Calif. — A disturbing invasion of privacy has led to the arrest of a Stockton man, as reported by Eric Woomer of The Stockton Record. Alejandro Aguirre, 26, is facing serious charges after a woman discovered a cellphone recording video in the bathroom of a local bowling alley.

The incident, which occurred on September 28 at the Pacific Avenue Bowl, involved a cellphone strategically hidden inside a trash can with a cut-out hole to mount the camera. The device was positioned to record girls and women using the restroom. It's unclear how long the phone had been recording or how many individuals were unknowingly filmed.

The discovery of the cellphone prompted an immediate police investigation. The phone was seized as evidence, leading detectives to Aguirre after following various leads. On Tuesday, with a warrant in hand, detectives arrested Aguirre in connection with the case.

Aguirre has been charged with 10 misdemeanor counts related to hiding the camera and 28 felony charges, including using or possessing obscene images of children and possessing images of minors engaged in sexual acts.

Currently held in San Joaquin County Jail, Aguirre's bail has been set at $500,000. He is expected to appear in court by Friday.

This case has raised serious concerns about privacy and safety in public spaces within the community. The arrest serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect citizens from such invasive crimes.
