STOCKTON, — The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors is calling on local residents to step forward and volunteer for several key boards and commissions, marking a significant push towards involving more community representatives in governance.
Volunteer positions are available across various bodies including the Agricultural Advisory Board, which seeks two at-large production agriculture representatives; the Council for Quality Education and Care of Children, which is looking for one community representative; and the Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee, which needs one at-large representative.
Additionally, openings are listed for the Lockeford, Thornton, and Woodbridge Municipal Advisory Councils, seeking four and two members respectively. This initiative not only helps fill crucial roles within the county’s advisory network but also empowers citizens to have a direct impact on local policies and development.
Applications for these positions are open until November 1, with the Board of Supervisors set to review candidates at their December 10 meeting. Successful applicants will be required to undergo training, details of which will be provided upon appointment by the Clerk of the Board.
