This fall, San Joaquin A+ launched an exciting initiative to connect over 500 students with hands-on career experiences through its Fall Job Shadow Tour Series. In partnership with local businesses, including LinkedIn, Holt of CA, Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and Acquiesce Vineyards, the program gave students the opportunity to explore various industries and envision their futures.

The tours offered students unique opportunities, such as creating LinkedIn profiles with expert guidance, learning about trades and construction at Holt of CA, gaining insight into healthcare careers through panels at Dignity Health, and delving into the art and science of winemaking at Acquiesce Vineyards. San Joaquin A+ credits the program's success to Tony Gladney, the organization's Director of Community Engagement, for his dedication to empowering youth.

"By exposing students to real-world career opportunities, we’re helping them envision futures filled with possibility," the organization shared. This initiative bridges the gap between education and the workforce, creating a stronger foundation for tomorrow's leaders.

San Joaquin A+ is already planning its next steps, with a focus on summer internships in 2025. The organization will offer resume and interview preparation workshops in the spring while opening internship applications. Employers interested in partnering to host interns can reach out to Shayla Walker to get involved.
