Authorities reported on Saturday that a 71-year-old woman in Stockton was targeted in a road rage incident on Friday evening, during which multiple shots were fired at her vehicle.

Remarkably, the woman escaped the incident without injury.

According to the Stockton Police Department, the episode occurred around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Mariposa Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard. An individual in another vehicle fired multiple times at the woman, striking the body and window of her car. Miraculously, the woman was not hit by the gunfire.

As of now, the incident remains under investigation, with no suspect description currently available.

This frightening incident comes in the wake of another shooting on a roadway the day before, which resulted in the death of an Amazon truck driver. Ilkhom Shodiev, 37, originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, was shot while driving his big rig along the northbound I-5 in Lathrop, just south of Stockton. The impact caused Shodiev's truck to veer off the freeway, crashing into parked cars and a building.

Shodiev later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Witnesses reported that his shooting may have resulted from a road rage incident, although the police have yet to confirm this as they continue their investigation to determine the motive and identify a suspect.

These two consecutive road rage incidents underscore an urgent need for increased vigilance and patience on the roads.
