Due to the atmospheric river storms Calaveras River levels have risen. Many citizens are becoming concerned because of the river being directly behind their homes. However most have hope in the fact that the levees are strong but will continue to watch just in case. "With the amount of waterways which run through our community, we always have some level of concern," said Tiffany Heyer, deputy director of general services for the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services. So far there have been no reported breaches in the extensive 135 mile long river. Still, San Joaquin County officials want residents to keep an eye on the waterways, and they say be prepared in case of emergency by knowing your way out and by having a "go bag." We have hopes that these won't become worse but stay prepared and look out for your neighbors.
