Janet Lucas, the athletic director of the University of the Pacific, recently announced her retirement after a long and illustrious career in athletics spanning 43 years. 

Lucas has been at the helm of Pacific’s athletics for the past five years, leading the 17 Division I teams under her watch through a worldwide pandemic with unwavering focus on the success of student-athletes on and off the court.

Throughout her tenure, Lucas has demonstrated a keen understanding of the importance of putting students first, a philosophy that has been central to the University of the Pacific's mission since its inception. She has been a driving force behind the university's efforts to provide student-athletes with a well-rounded education and opportunities to develop their skills both athletically and academically.
