SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA — Residents across San Joaquin County experienced widespread power outages Monday evening, affecting nearly 3,500 customers at its peak. While power was restored in Manteca, bringing relief to nearly 700 customers, other areas, including Stockton, continue to face darkness.

Update on Manteca: Late into the night, at around 11:30 p.m., power was successfully restored in Manteca after a significant outage. This development came as a relief to the community, which was part of the larger blackout affecting the county.

Ongoing Challenges in Stockton: Despite the progress in Manteca, Stockton and other unincorporated areas of the county are still grappling with power disruptions. As of the latest updates, at least 1,300 customers remain without electricity. In Stockton, around 1,200 customers are affected, with the largest outage cluster impacting approximately 575 residents in areas bordered by East Harding Way, North California Street, East Weber Avenue, and North Wilson Way.

Earlier Outages and Restorations: Earlier in the evening, outages were reported in the Morada area and south of Lockeford, with power being restored in many of these areas by 8:45 p.m. However, the cause of the outages remains unclear, and estimates for power restoration vary across the affected regions.

Unplanned Outages: The outages, which began around 5:22 p.m. in the Morada area and shortly after 6 p.m. south of Lockeford, were unplanned. Initial estimates suggested that power might not be restored until around 2 a.m. in some areas. Manteca's outage, reported at 6:35 p.m., saw power return by 11:30 p.m., earlier than the anticipated 8:45 p.m. restoration time.

Staying Informed: Residents seeking updates on the outages can consult the PG&E outage map, which provides real-time information on the status of electricity restoration efforts.

Looking Forward: As San Joaquin County works through these unexpected outages, the community is hopeful for swift resolutions. PG&E has not yet provided specific reasons for the disruptions but continues to update their outage map with the latest information on restoration times.
