In a recent incident, a Stockton Police Department officer sustained minor injuries after spectators allegedly threw objects at the officer's car during a sideshow on Saturday night, as reported by the department.

The sideshow took place at approximately 10:05 p.m. in the vicinity of Madison Street and Eighth Street in south Stockton. When an officer attempted to intervene and enforce the law at the sideshow, onlookers reportedly began pelting the officer's car with items, including bottles.

Regrettably, one of the bottles struck the vehicle, causing the windshield to shatter and leaving the officer with minor injuries, according to police sources.

As of now, authorities have not provided any information regarding a suspect involved in the incident. It is worth noting that this sideshow was just one of several reported throughout the city on Saturday night.

Prior to this incident, another sideshow had taken place near the Stockton Arena, where participants were captured on camera spraying a water gun and throwing a ball at a Stockton Unified Department of Public Safety officer's car.

In response, the officer decided to withdraw from the area, and eventually, the sideshow dispersed. Notably, this particular sideshow coincided with the departure of spectators from the arena, which had hosted nationally-televised professional fights earlier that night.

Law enforcement authorities estimated that approximately 40 vehicles were involved in the sideshow near the arena.

The Stockton Police Department is actively investigating these incidents and encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward. Such dangerous activities not only jeopardize public safety but also pose a threat to law enforcement officers who work diligently to maintain order in the community.
