LODI, Calif. — The city of Lodi is gearing up for its much-anticipated annual Parade of Lights, set to illuminate the downtown area with festive cheer. As reported by Wes Bowers of the News-Sentinel, the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lodi is leading the preparations for this highlight of the city’s holiday season.
In preparation for the parade, which is scheduled to start at 6:17 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, no-parking signs will be posted downtown from Wednesday morning. These signs will specifically be placed on School and Church streets, indicating that parking will be restricted from 4 p.m. on the day of the parade.
The Parade of Lights, known for its stunning light displays and holiday-themed floats, has been a beloved tradition in Lodi. It brings together community members and visitors to celebrate the festive season in a spectacular way. Previous parades have featured creatively decorated floats, like the Pacific Coast Producers Polar Express, which captured the imagination of attendees.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to arrive early to secure good viewing spots and to plan their travel and parking accordingly, given the restrictions. The parade promises an evening of joy, community spirit, and holiday magic, as Lodi's streets come alive with the glow of lights and the sound of celebration.
