Lockeford Elementary School On Lockdown Following Nearby Car Accident

Lockeford Elementary School went into lockdown on Tuesday morning due to a car accident that occurred nearby, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office. The incident took place around 8:15 a.m. on Highway 88 near Locke Road in Lockeford.

The sheriff's office reported that three to four individuals left the scene of the accident wearing masks. Due to the proximity of the school to the accident, the school was promptly placed on lockdown as a safety precaution.

A heavy law enforcement presence has been established in the area, and residents are advised to avoid the vicinity. Officials have confirmed that there is no further immediate threat to public safety.

The California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation of the accident and its aftermath.
