In an unexpected turn of events, local TV personality, Michael Gonzales, 39, known for his appearance on episode 3 of A&E’s "Booked: First Day In" last June, was apprehended for shoplifting on Friday night.
According to Turlock Police, the incident took place around 9:54 pm at the Walmart Neighborhood Market located on the 2400 block of Geer Road. The establishment reported Gonzales leaving the premises with a box of wine he had not paid for.
Responding promptly to the call, officers located Gonzales a short while later, waiting at a bus stop by Yogurt Mill, directly across the street from the market. Upon confrontation, he was detained for further questioning.
Subsequent investigations revealed that this wasn't Gonzales' first brush with the store. He had previously received a trespass warning, forbidding him from entering the business.
Following the investigation, Gonzales was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center. He now faces charges of theft and trespassing. The incident has surely added an unexpected chapter to the TV star's public profile.
