STOCKTON, CA — Get ready to be captivated by the enchanting 'Koda's Journey to the Magic Forest' at Stockton Ballpark. This lantern festival, unlike any before, promises a mesmerizing experience, combining the ancient art of Chinese lantern making with a magical journey through the mythical woods of Caballococha, Peru.
Visitors will walk alongside Koda, an adventurous 8-year-old boy, exploring a magical forest brought to life by larger-than-life illuminated lanterns. The festival features handcrafted lanterns by Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc., the largest lantern festival producer in the U.S. These intricate art installations use over 20,000 LED lights, 82,000 feet of light rope, and 11,500 feet of fabric, with some lanterns reaching up to 50 feet high and 100 feet wide.
The lanterns are attentively crafted using a traditional Chinese technique, a 2,000-year-old art form. This extraordinary craft fuses vibrant colors, LED lights, metal, and fabric to create impressive creatures and structures that spring to life around every turn.
Beyond the visual splendor, the festival includes live stage performances showcasing musical talent, dance, and acrobatics. It's an adventure for all ages, leaving visitors with feelings of joy, serenity, and inspiration. The festival also offers Peruvian inspired food and drinks, including warm treats and adult beverages, as you wander through this fantastic setting.
This festival promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime event for Stockton residents and visitors, bringing a world of imagination and enchantment to life. Don’t miss your chance to be part of Koda's magical journey!
