A disturbing incident occurred at the Pacific Avenue Bowl, a popular family-oriented Stockton bowling alley, where a cell phone was found secretly recording inside a bathroom trash can. A longtime patron of the establishment made the shocking discovery last Thursday evening.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, told our affiliate KCRA 3 about her unsettling experience. After initially attempting to use one restroom but finding it dirty, she was redirected to another single-stall, all-gender bathroom by an employee, who mentioned the women's restroom was being cleaned. However, she noted not seeing any cleaning activity, which she found odd.

Upon entering the all-gender bathroom, the woman noticed a suspicious hole in the trash can and felt uneasy. Although she turned the trash can around and exited, on her subsequent visit to the same restroom about 40 minutes later, she realized the trash can had been turned back to its initial position, with the hole directed towards the toilet.

"I knew in my heart," the woman lamented. "I immediately checked inside the trash bag and discovered the phone. It had been recording for approximately an hour." Distressed, she informed her family and friends, who promptly contacted the authorities.

The Stockton Police Department confirmed the story's details and stated that the investigation is currently focusing on identifying the phone's owner and their motives for recording.

Repeated attempts to contact the Pacific Avenue Bowl's management for comments were unsuccessful as of Friday. The community awaits further updates on the matter, raising concerns about privacy and safety at public venues.
