Stockton, Calif. — In response to the growing issue of retail theft in San Joaquin County, the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce is set to unveil a new billboard campaign designed to deter criminals and protect local businesses. This initiative, part of the Stockton Takes Action Against Retail Theft (STAART) program, will be launched at a public event on July 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at 4455 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA.
The STAART program aims to address the significant challenges posed by retail theft, which has been severely impacting the local business community. By leveraging existing efforts and proactive strategies, the program seeks to mitigate the effects of crime that have been costly in terms of money, time, and potential future revenue.
The launch event will include a press conference featuring key figures from the Chamber, along with certificate presentations and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the installation of the new billboards. The event will also provide an overview of the STAART program's strategies and goals.
Frank J. Ferral, the Chief Policy Officer of the Chamber, emphasized the importance of the community's support in this endeavor. "These billboards are a visible sign of our commitment to safeguarding our local businesses and the broader community," he stated. "We invite the public to join us in this important initiative to enhance the security and prosperity of our area."
The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce encourages residents and local business owners to attend the unveiling, signaling a united front against retail crime in Stockton and the wider San Joaquin County area.
