Gas prices, a pivotal topic for many, continue to climb. As of Monday, the national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas stands at $3.865, marking a slight increase from last week's $3.851, reports the American Automobile Association (AAA).
In California, the hike is more pronounced. The average cost for a gallon of gas was recorded at $5.255 on Monday, up from $5.151 the previous week. Thornton, in particular, saw a steeper rise with the average price reaching a staggering $5.69.

For students and locals on the lookout for the best gas prices, here's a breakdown of a few stations in the area:

Chevron (9015 W Walnut Grove Rd, Thornton): Regular gas is priced at $5.69.

Sinclair (14749 N Thornton Rd, Lodi): Regular gas goes for $4.69, mid-grade at $5.09, premium at $5.25, and diesel also at $5.25.

Flying J (15100 N Thornton Rd, Lodi): Regular-grade gas stands at $4.69, mid-grade at $5.1, premium at $5.35, and diesel is priced at $5.65.

Love's Travel Stop (15250 N Thornton Rd, Lodi): Regular gas is available for $4.69, mid-grade for $4.99, premium for $5.29, and diesel at $5.64.

ARCO (14931 N Flag City Blvd, Lodi): Regular-grade gas is priced at $4.85.

Aisle 1 (10450 Twin Cities Rd, Galt): Prices are $4.99 for regular, $5.14 for mid-grade, $5.39 for premium, and $5.47 for diesel.
