In a shocking turn of events, former NBA G League player Chance Comanche and his girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Marayna Rodgers, as announced by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on Sunday.

Comanche, 27, a former player for the Stockton Kings, and Harnden, 19, were initially charged with the kidnapping of Rodgers, Harnden's friend. The investigation took a grimmer turn when Rodgers' remains were found in a desert area near Las Vegas, leading to murder charges against the couple.

The Stockton Kings, affiliated with the Sacramento Kings, have since released Comanche from the team following these allegations. Rodgers had been reported missing on December 7, having last been seen two days prior, when she planned to meet with Harnden and Comanche.

Early suspicions of foul play led detectives to arrest Harnden and Comanche for their involvement in Rodgers' disappearance. Further investigations led to the discovery of Rodgers' remains in Henderson, about 20 miles southeast of Las Vegas.

Harnden is now facing charges of murder and theft, in addition to kidnapping, as per court records. While no murder charge has been filed against Comanche yet, police have indicated that both suspects' charges could be amended to open murder through coordination with the Clark County District Attorney’s office.

Comanche was apprehended by FBI personnel in Sacramento, California, and is awaiting extradition to Nevada. Harnden was arrested earlier and has appeared in court, where her bond was set at $500,000.
