STOCKTON, CA — In a recent interview now available on our YouTube channel, local poet and activist Aaron T. shares his transformative journey from New Orleans to Stockton, and his aspirations to inspire change within his community.

Aaron's life was reshaped after relocating post-Hurricane Katrina. He found his passion for poetry during high school, an art form that allowed him to voice the complexities of urban life and personal growth. "Some things I've seen in this city make you cry, but a lot make you smile," Aaron reflected on his experiences in Stockton.

"I want to be the person I needed when I was younger," Aaron stated, emphasizing his commitment to genuine community involvement and youth mentorship.

With plans to continue his advocacy work, Aaron is focused on leading by example and encouraging local leadership to prioritize community needs. "Don't let it be a clout chase. Be genuine. Give real love and continue bringing stuff for the kids. They need it," he urged.
