Double Homicide Shocks Stockton's Garden Acres Neighborhood

In a startling turn of events earlier this week, two men were discovered dead in their residence in Stockton's Garden Acres neighborhood, as confirmed by the San Joaquin County sheriff's office.

Edward Williams Belsheim Jr. E L, 34, and Mickey O'Dell, 65, both of Stockton, were identified as the victims by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's spokesperson on Thursday.

Heather Brent, a spokesperson for the San Joaquin County sheriff's office, revealed that the residents of the North Oro Drive home returned at approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday to find both Belsheim Jr. and O'Dell dead, apparently from gunshot wounds. From the initial information gleaned from archived sheriff's radio traffic, one of the residents, possibly a woman, could be related to the deceased men.

In a distressing 911 call on Wednesday, the caller described discovering her boyfriend "on the ground covered in blood". Moments later, she reported finding her father "also down" in the house. Brent affirmed that the men likely lived in the home.

While certain details from the radio traffic could not be independently verified with the sheriff's investigators, the circumstances surrounding the deaths remain shrouded in mystery. The sheriff's office has refrained from releasing specifics about the location of the bodies inside the home or discussing potential motives or suspects. Brent noted that while it remains uncertain whether either man could have inflicted harm on the other or themselves, both appeared to have been killed shortly before being discovered.

Assuring residents of Garden Acres, Brent emphasized that investigators do not perceive any imminent threat to the community linked to this case.

As of now, no arrests have been made, leaving the neighborhood and wider Stockton community seeking answers to this tragic incident.
