Micke Grove Zoo in Lodi recently said farewell to Frank, a cherished ring-tailed lemur, who died at the age of 29 from cancer.

Since his arrival at the zoo in 1996, Frank had endeared himself to both visitors and staff with his playful antics and heartwarming sibling bond.

Frank, who arrived at the zoo along with his father and half-brother Dean, was a popular figure among the zoo-goers. His playful squabbles with his brother and the neighboring red ruffed lemurs provided much amusement.

Zoo manager, Trish Jackman, fondly reminisced, “Frank loved nothing better than to try to start something with his brother or the red ruffed lemurs. They had a true sibling relationship filled with teasing, squabbling and lots of time just enjoying one another.”

Despite his mischievous nature, Frank also had a tender side, especially when it came to Dean. The two brothers were periodically separated due to medical treatments, but every reunion was marked by Frank hugging and grooming his brother, a touching sight for all.

As the zoo community continues to mourn Frank's loss, his brother Dean remains on exhibit, serving as a living testament to their endearing sibling story at Micke Grove Zoo.
