Today the Stockton Unified School District will meet today and one of the items on the agenda will be to remove board attorney Jack Lipton. Lipton is a part of the Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP.
"We hired them initially under a violation of the Brown Act without community and public input,” Flores told The Record. “We told him that his services were no longer needed.” The Record Continues with “In hiring Lipton, the board circumvented their own bylaws by skipping the request for proposal and vetting process of hiring legal services, according to the grand jury report. Some of the board members were in the dark about his hire; there was no contract to review prior to the meeting, the grand jury report said.”
