Almost two years ago Stockton lost a local hero who was an influential man to his community. Since this tragic event, the killer has finally been convicted.
Rodney Hu was a beloved friend, husband, sensei and much more. Because of an escalated argument, Alfonso Wilburn decided to get into his car and hit Hu, which tragically ended Hu’s life. Wilburn was finally convicted of first degree murder. “The defendant in this case made a conscious decision to take the life of a husband, father, and friend to many. This kind of conduct has no place in our community,” said District Attorney Tori Verber Salazar.
