7 New Laws For California

After the bills were voted in, here is what you need to know about what will change in 2023.

Feather Alert System - Acting as an amber alert for indigenous people

Minimum Wage Increase - This will be increased to $15.50

Transparency of Pay Scales - When companies post looking for employees, this law will require the company to post the pay scale

New Holidays - Juneteenth, Genocide Remembrance Day, Lunar Year, and Native American Day.

Farm Workers - Farmers will now be able to unionize. However legislators have already thought about changing this.

Jaywalking - Jaywalking will now be legalized. However, this will only be against the law if a person crosses a non-designated area.

Passing Bicyclists - This new law requires you to get into another lane when passing a bicyclist.
