In east Stockton's industrial area, a 46-year-old man was fatally shot on Wednesday morning.
The Stockton police found him outside a vehicle on a residential street near 1900 Vicki Lane, behind Eastland Plaza, around 2 a.m. Despite their efforts, the man passed away at the location.
The man's identity cannot be disclosed by the San Joaquin County medical examiner spokesperson yet as his family is yet to be informed of his death. This is the 11th reported homicide in Stockton this year, and no motives have been declared by the police regarding the shooting.
The most homicides in Stockton so far this year have occurred in South Stockton. Recently, three homicides were reported within 24 hours on Airport Road south of the crosstown freeway, including a double shooting near South Side Market on March 4 and a death at a homeless encampment last week in Mormon Slough.
